Dimensional Analysis Review:
Normally the moon is about 238,900 miles from earth. Tonight’s Supermoon puts the moon 17,375 miles closer to the earth so it will appear much larger and brighter. However, in science we deal in metric units, so use dimensional analysis to convert this distance (17,375 miles) into kilometers (1 mile = 1609 meters).
